History

It's origin

Noobs Anonymous has a double history as the clan originated from a clan called 'Noble Aprentices'. Noble Aprentices was founded by nam and xer. The clan was called Noble Aprentices because they were to practice with the more expirienced clan Nobles. The clan had almost died but then maertz joined it, took over leadership and recruited some new players. With a mixed team they competed in a few leagues untill the clan went inactive for some time.

Noobs Anonymous, the IRC channel

Noobs Anonymous originally was a group of teachers founded by maertz to teach new CPMA players and help them getting to learn how to use the somewhat complex CPMA movement. The idea for the name was inspired by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it fitted the old name of Noble Aprentices channel #cpma.na Together with poub, maertz has tought over 200 players how to move around in CPMA. The channel became a place for new CPMA players to find other starting duellers to play against, and ask questions about the game. The clan and their channel still serve this purpose today, when you join #promode, CPMA's main channel on QuakeNet the welcome message redirects newbies to #cpma.na. Noobs Anonymous has been led by shaun after maertz' withdrawal. Shaun also wrote numerous helpfull articles about CPMA gameplay and created some movement-teaching demos.

Noobs Anonymous, the clan

maertz wanted to revive 'na' once more as a clan and recruited some players to for Barrysworld CPM League. Maertz quit cpma for a long time and shaun took over the lead making Noobs Anonymous a top-ranking clan taking a dominant place in TDM and CTF tournaments.
